📰 This Week’s Blockchain and Web3 Highlights

SEC Atkins Lays Out Project Crypto and a Token Taxonomy at Bitcoin 2026: Atkins outlined a five-bucket framework at the Bitcoin conference. Digital commodities, network tokens, collectibles, and tools are outside the scope of securities law.

MoonPay Launches MoonAgents Card for AI Agents on Mastercard: The new card lets users and AI agents spend stablecoins straight from self-custodial wallets via Mastercard, issued through Monavate. Live in the UK and LATAM, with US and EU rollout planned.

KuCoin Web3 Wallet Hooks Into 260+ Tokenized Stocks Through Ondo: The self-custody wallet now reaches Ondo Global Markets, and 260+ tokenized US stocks and ETFs, including Nvidia, Apple, and Tesla. Ondo handles issuance and redemption.

Meta Turns On USDC Creator Payouts on Solana and Polygon: Meta started routing creator earnings as USDC on Solana and Polygon through Stripe, beginning in Colombia and the Philippines.

Ripple Opens DIFC Headquarters in Dubai: Ripple’s expanded MEA HQ at Dubai International Financial Center is open, with capacity to double the local team. RLUSD also gained DFSA recognition for use across the DIFC.

Aave Goes Live on Solana via the Sunrise Bridge: Aave deployed to Solana via the Sunrise canonical bridge, opening a new lending market without the wrapped-asset workaround that earlier multichain attempts relied on.

Modern Treasury Wires USDC on Polygon Into Its Payments API: Treasury teams can now move funds between Polygon stablecoins and US bank rails via a single Payments API.

🔦 Tech Spotlight: Enshrined Proposer-Builder Separation (ePBS) Primer

Ethereum’s next upgrade has a headliner. EIP-7732 brings Proposer-Builder Separation, the arrangement that already produces most Ethereum blocks via MEV-Boost, into the protocol itself. Today, the trust between the proposer, builder, and relayer resides in the middleware. ePBS pulls it inside the consensus.

The problem ePBS fixes: Validators rely on relayers to deliver builder blocks. If a relayer drops a payload or misbehaves, proposers can lose payment or include the wrong block. Builders can also be cheated by proposers who unbundle a payload for free. The relayer layer is also a centralization point that the protocol does not see.

How the new flow works: The proposer no longer commits the full execution payload at proposal time. Instead, it signs a builder commitment that names the blockhash and the payment owed. The builder reveals the payload after the slot starts. Validators run a new attestation to confirm timely arrival, and the protocol requires on-time payment.

Why it matters now: ePBS provides trust-free settlement between the proposer and builder, removes the need for relay middleware, and reduces validator CPU load. The tradeoffs are real. A second slot phase complicates timing assumptions, and the gadget logic has hardened more slowly than Pectra or Fusaka. Sigma Prime has flagged design concerns worth tracking. For builders watching the Ethereum roadmap, ePBS is the structural piece that turns MEV plumbing into protocol rules.

📊 Chart of the Week: Tokenized RWAs Cross $30B

Tokenized real-world asset distributed value sits at $30.30B, up 4.61% over the trailing 30 days. Holder count reached 740,822, a 3.36% gain. Stablecoin value sits at $296.59B with 247.25M holders. The trend held even through soft Bitcoin ETF flows late in the week, and the year-over-year jump is roughly fivefold from the $6.6B mark twelve months ago.

Most of the growth is in lending and credit infrastructure, not in direct token speculation.

😂 A Little Blockchain Humor Break 🤣

Recap: Project Crypto resets the regulatory frame. MoonPay puts AI agents on the Mastercard rail. KuCoin Web3 brings tokenized US stocks into self-custody. Meta routes creator USDC through Solana and Polygon. Ripple plants a bigger flag in Dubai. Aave lands native on Solana. Modern Treasury wires Polygon USDC into one Payments API.

✅ Trivia Answer: B) 2017

CryptoPunks launched in June 2017 from Larva Labs, predating the ERC-721 standard. The 10,000 generative pixel-art avatars helped seed the NFT category and remain a cultural reference point.
